Three men learned that a family would be out of town through a Facebook post and attempted to burglarize their Fontana home on Tuesday, but were caught by Fontana police.

The Fontana Police Department Rapid Response Team was conducting surveillance when they saw three men burglarize a home on the 16600 block of Windcrest Dr. (map), according to a Fontana Police Department press release.

Officers were able to recover several flat screen TVs, furniture and other property from a U-Haul that the suspects had rented for the burglary and learned that the men knew the residents would be away through social media, the press release stated.

Michael Batson, 21, Phillip McKnight, 32, and Tyrone Gibson, 20, were all arrested on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy, the press release stated.
