Man Wounded During Officer Involved Shooting in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, Calif. (KTLA) – A man was injured in an officer-involved shooting on Sunday morning in the Vista del Oro neighborhood of San Pedro, authorities said.

The incident unfolded just before 3 a.m. when Los Angeles police received a call of a man with a gun.

Officers from the LAPD Harbor Community Police Station responded to the 1200 block of West 15th Street, LAPD Detective Gus Villanueva told KTLA 5 News.

The alleged gunman, who did not live at the home where the incident happened, was shot during a confrontation with officers, police said.

The man knew the people who live in the house, according to authorities.

He was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. No officers were hurt.

An investigation was under way.
