The 1st annual The Lucy Pet Foundation float showcases some of Lucy’s amazing friends that were all rescued from animal shelters into loving forever-homes. In this action packed, spine tingling, family fun and high energy extravaganza a variety of canine entertainers, preforming incredible tricks, are sure to entertain and bring joy to all on New Year’s Day, especially from the performers themselves. Lucy’s amazing rescue friends feature hair-raising stunts including double dutch jump roping, high-flying jumping dogs and balancing acts. No public donations went to the cost of the float or to any Rose Parade expenses. These costs were paid for by Joey Herrick, President of The Lucy Pet Foundation.

This spectacle of action and flowers takes center ring with colorful balls of hot pink and purple carnations, yellow and orange roses, and green Kermit button poms with accents of statice and strawflower petals. White stars have individually applied white beans. Poles and canopies feature yellow strawflower petals, orange lentil seeds and crisp white coconut flakes. The draped bunting running the entire 75 feet length on both sides of the float feature over 15,000 roses in hot pink Taiga, yellow Moon and orange Wow. Soil-less fescue grass sod is used on all deck areas to provide soft but durable surfaces for the animals to perform upon.
