A lot of man power today, hundreds of volunteers making sure 3500 meals get served and everyone who attends today is treated with love and dignity.

Tanya Villa laughs infectiously as a volunteer washes her feet, symbolizing the spirit of Easter.

Tanya, one of the estimated 5,000 homeless who live on skid row says on this Good Friday, she feels like a queen.

“People are so giving and nice and the personalities from people such as yourself they give me such inspiration,”  says Villa.

“The hope is to hold on and never give up never give up no matter what,” says Kenneth Bryant, volunteer.

After thirty years of being addicted to crack, in and out of prison, and often homeless, Bryant says the love shown at events like this one, is what got him off the streets and taught him to pay it forward.

“I work in the volunteer department …with a lot of youth groups, Bryant says.

As the honorary guests, thousands received a gourmet meal served by celebrities and volunteers including KTLA’s very own Michaela Pereira.

“The people that come and volunteer bring love great thing they always handle their clients and visitors with such dignity it’s a great thing. We were teary eyed, and I cried already several times today,” Pereira says.

Two thousand pairs of brand new Etnies Shoes were given away.

“Make me feel good. God is good, ” Arthur Cook, homeless.

And hygiene kits were distributed as well as something many of these children never thought they’d get, an Easter basket..

“We get an Easter basket to provide for our daughter, something that we need to make her happy, at least for a little while,” Lesly Delgado, mother.

It is so easy for you at home to help.

All you do is tweet #skidroweaster and two sponsors Gardein and Sizzle Pitch Productions will donate $1 to the Los Angeles mission.
