Woman Dies After Being Shot Multiple Times Behind Apartment in Pomona

An investigation was underway in Pomona after a woman was found shot to death in carport behind an apartment complex early Monday, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 700 block of San Francisco Avenue (map) around 3 a.m. after receiving several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area, according to a news release from the Pomona Police Department.

When they arrived, officers found that the victim had been shot several times, the release stated.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Police were working to identify the woman, who had no form of identification on her.

She was described as Hispanic and being between the ages of 30 and 40, according to the release.

No information about the possible shooter or shooters was available, police said.
