If you’ve ever been laid off from a job and heard the cliche phrase: “When one door closes, another one opens,” and wondered: Does it really? Candace Nelson is proof that it can in a big way.
Candace was riding high in high-tech finance when the dot-com bust left her jobless. It gave her a moment to take stock of her life and career. She realized that what she really wanted to do was bake. She went to pastry school and in 2005 with her husband Charles they opened their first Sprinkles Cupcakes store in Beverly Hills.
Today, Sprinkles is in 20 locations in the U.S. with others opening overseas. Sprinkles cupcake mixes are sold at Williams-Sonoma stores and in 2012 the company introduced the world to its first “Cupcake ATM.” Fans can also now buy Sprinkles ice cream and cookies and see Candace as a celebrity chef on TV.
How did she do it? And what’s next for this amazing entrepreneur/pastry chef? The answers are on Frank Buckley Interviews…Candace Nelson.
