The National Football League’s Twitter account was apparently hacked Tuesday morning resulting in multiple tweets falsely reporting the death of the league’s commissioner Roger Goodell.
“We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57,” the tweet, which was deleted a short time later, read.
After the tweet was deleted, the hacker continued to post on the NFL’s feed.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter quickly dispelled the death tweets.

The incident comes two days after actor Jack Black was the target of a death hoax when his band’s Twitter account was hacked.
