Wind-Driven Brush Fire Grows to 2,250 Acres Near Bishop; Containment Increases to 15%

The fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday near the Pleasant Valley Reservoir and Highway 395, exploding from 100 acres to 900 in a few hours. Highway 6, a major traffic artery to Nevada, was closed from Highway 395 to the Nevada state line. The blaze is seen in a photo released by the Inyo County Sheriff's Office.
