6 dead, 8 hurt after fiery car crash in Windsor Hills
At least six people were killed and eight were injured in a fiery multi-vehicle crash at a gas station on South La Brea and Slauson avenues Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation by the CHP, but authorities confirmed that the driver is a 40-year-old woman who suffered major injuries while driving "a two-door Mercedes traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on La Brea."
That woman is in the hospital. Meanwhile, friends and families of the victims and those who witnessed the crash are struggling to accept what happened.
