“El Grito" kicked off the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday night at Gloria Molina Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles filled with plenty of music and merry.
The celebration renacts and commemorate the legendary Grito de Dolores or Cry of Dolores, which was a speech made 213 years ago by a Roman Catholic priest who led the Mexican Independence Movement against Spanish rule.
“I feel so happy because this is part of our generation and to be celebrating in the USA is amazing,” said attendee Rosea Marquez.
